This is a small three bar or St. Andrew cross constructed of a unique materal know as Mokume Gane. This material is produced by fusing many layers of two different metals. The technique originates from Japan. This Mokume Gane is made from layers of Argentium sterling silver and copper. I've applied a patina to the copper in order to darken it, increasing the contrast. The back is solid Argentium sterling silver, which prevents the green staining often seen with copper jewelry when it touches the skin. Each of these crosses is hand fabricated.
