This was a special project. The carved wooden cross was provided. The frame was crafted using the lost wax casting technique.
The profile of the cross was traced to a block of wax. The wax is hand carved to follow this profile.
The cross is attached to the frame using epoxy. I also added a pin through the bale of the cross. Epoxy can become brittle over time. This will prevent the wooden cross from being lost should this ever happen.
A burnished texture was applied to the back of the cross.
