This Cross was based on our Large Celtic Tulip Cross. A customer asked me if it would be possible to modify that cross to replace two of the tulips with the Greek letters alpha and omega. I liked the idea, but thought that adding the Chi Ro as well would fill out the design and conform to tradition. (Chi Ro is an abbreviation for Christ)
In this way, we arrived at a design that I considered a good addition to our line, rather than just a single custom piece. Here is the initial sketch.
While carving the design, I decided to modify it some more by altering the design of the leaves to be broader. Here is the wax carving.
It's a bold design. I'm happy with the result.
